It’s getting a bit yueltidy it seems, and what better time of year to listen to some slightly trippy, pastoral English folk rock?¿?¿
Here is some Pentangle, featuring the incomparable Bert Jansch (in this clip on banjo). A man who can play the most wonderful, almost aggressive acoustic guitar or sing sweet pop tunes like ‘Life Depends On Love’, an absolute classic. Currently though, I am really digging ‘I WIsh My Baby Was Here’.
In further folky news, I am trying to learn the faux classical guitar arrangement from ‘If I Could Save Time In A Bottle’ by Jim Croce. It’s tricky, and lovely. The Muppet Show version is almost better than the original. I wonder who was the musical director at The Muppet Show in the 70s? So fantastic, so consistent!
So anyway, spend some time singing songs this holiday please. It is good for the soul. Much better than being on fucking facebook anyway.
xx
